Endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty

Endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty (ESG) is a minimally invasive weight loss procedure that involves reducing the size of the stomach using an endoscope. During the procedure, a flexible tube with a camera and suturing device attached is inserted through the mouth and into the stomach. Our surgeon then uses the device to create a series of stitches in the stomach wall, effectively reducing the size of the stomach and creating a sleeve-like shape.

Process
ESG is designed to help people lose weight by restricting the amount of food they can eat at one time. By reducing the size of the stomach, the procedure can help people feel full more quickly and for longer periods of time, leading to a reduction in calorie intake and weight loss.Unlike traditional weight loss surgery,ESG doesn’t involve cutting or removing any part of the stomach or rerouting the digestive tract. The patient can be discharged within 24 hours after surgery.
ESG is generally considered safe and effective for people with a body mass index (BMI) between 30 and 40 who have been unable to lose weight through diet and exercise alone.
