Radiation oncology is a medical specialty in cancer therapy, which utilizes specific ionizing radiation in cancer control, reduction, or elimination. As such, cancer therapy in Japan is believed to include a substantial segment of radiation oncology, which helps in cancer control, reduction, and elimination in conjunction with other types of cancer therapy. More so, radiotherapy is utilized in cancer control in breast, lung, prostate, head and neck, cervical, and skin cancer. In this aspect, there is a specific market need, given the increasing rates of cancer detection, expansion of cancer facilities, and increasing emphasis on organ-sparing and minimum invasive cancer therapy.
